”The term Planking is an activity consisting of lying face down with both arms along the sides of the body (mimicking a wooden plank). Planking can include lying on a flat surface or balancing on top of something.”
Erik Berglins recent practice has focused on appropriating images found on the internet. He is interested in similarities between famous works of art and images made by anonymous people. In Art history books there is usually an obsession to compare historically important examples of related images and themes. By comparing famous pictures with private images that unconsciously mimic works of art, Erik Berglin is questioning originality and copyright issues.
