Glitch and the city is a collage of leftover material from the analog photographic process. Test strips and wrongly exposed photographs are intertwined to create a weave of fragmented images, a collection of light and darkness. By existing between representation and abstraction, the collage leads to alternative ways of seeing. Visible seams and fabricated errors draw attention to the materiality of the photograph and acknowledge the power in cutting, dissolving and merging.

Maja Rut Eriksson and Tilde Bergh Ängeby explore the flaws and potentials of the analog medium. Together, they share a common interest in unexpected, as well as constructed, errors and embrace its ability to disrupt the way we see photography. They have previously collaborated with collage in video, sound and photography.
