Röda rummet

My artistry is a love child between abstract sculpture where I experiment with synthetic materials and my melancholic inclination for poetry. These components are usually combined in installations that revolve around a phenomenon – the sticky, the relational. By imprinting words about ephemeral conditions into enduring materials, I investigate the notion of permanence. Does longing have a best-before-date, and is it the feeling or the plastic that will rot first?

The work Röda Rummet (The Red Room) represents the attempt to heal and accept the injuries that has occurred in acts of intimacy. In the microcosmos behind the glass the wounds that are the fatal consequences of touching are being licked. The question I ask myself during the creation of the work is; to what extent can it reflect the healing process – perhaps even be a consolation?
